This is definitely the year to hang out in the desert, where it's actually enjoyably and not excessively hot.
Darn, I hate to brag but Sacramento has had the perfect combo of cool, mild, warm, sunny, slightly breezy.

Likewise, This is definitely the year to hang out in Sacramento, just perfect!

In April and early May we had a few extra days, outside of the norm, where the day stayed mostly cloudy. But for a solid month now, we always have at least 70% of the day with Sun.

Well, just to make you all appreciate this year even more, it rained here last night on San Diego. On our City Data forum, ppl are complaining about wearing a scarf while walking their dog. It just feels like it's still March.

That being said, Palm Springs is currently only 80f with a 22mph wind. High temp in the mid 80s today in mid June. That's insanely cool for the desert. Everyone's getting in on the unusual temps this year.

El Niño may be why we are having these cooler than normal temperatures here this year.

Our friends in the desert tell us it's been miraculously beautiful out there all season. Low to mid 80s and breezy during the day. Instead of then driving to the coast to escape the heat, this may be the summer for coastal dwellers to escape the Gloom and enjoy the Sun in the desert.

This weather is similar to how Sac was a couple of decades ago. It didn't start to get warm until around June 21st and after. Then the heat broke in late September for a couple weeks. Then Indian Summer hits in early October for a week or two and it would push up to the low 90's. Then the heat would break and perfect weather until the tule fog and rain would set in for the rainy season.
