Anyone at all familiar with this area? It is located just off of rt1/301 Jefferson Davis Hwy near Bellmeade rd/Commerce rd. This area is located near Philip Morris Facilities, & Dupont Industrial Park (Spruance Plant) ... all this is according to my map

I am moving to the area in a couple months and have been looking at MANY different apts in the past few months. I am starting to make my final choices. I can't find much info about this place/area. I've only been able to find 1 rating on this place/area ... it was good, but it was just 1 person. I'm ready to pull the trigger and take one of these apt, but I'm stressing over it. I don't want to end up in an area that I don't feel safe leaving my loved ones home alone. I would really love anyone/everyone's input that has any knowledge what so ever of this area. I'm don't care about the schools or the shopping or anything else other than is it a safe area?

Sorry, I'm no help. I live out in the country in Goochland, but if crime is your concern, here's a link to RichmondCrime, a database where you can enter an address and a date range, and the crimes reported (not necessarily committed, but REPORTED) will appear below the map. Link: RichmondCrime.org

If your question is about quality-of-life otherwise, with just a token recognition of the area, I'd say it's not the most neighborhood-y of residential areas. But there are lots of other people on here who live in and know south Richmond better than I.
