This happened at the Family Dollar on Plainfield St. in Olneyville (very near to the NY System). A man in his 40s was shot from a "sedan with four masked men".

Students seem to be the target throughout the city with this latest happening on Oakland Ave., same PC neighborhood where the rapist has been striking.
Three People Shot in Pellet Gun Attack at Off-Campus House by Providence College
"Shortly after 11 PM Friday night, police said they were flagged down on Oakland Avenue -- just off Eaton Street -- for a report of an assault. The victims told police a grey sedan drove past their house and shot at the group of a half dozen people who had been gathered outside. A 21-year-old male was hit in the leg; a 21-year-old female was hit in the chest, and a twenty-two-year-old female was hit in the back. Members of the group told police that during the attack, laser sights could be seen on their bodies as targets for the shootings. The sedan reportedly sped off following the shooting."
First incident was around 11pm near the corner of Thayer and Powerfield St. on the East Side, second happened around 11:30pm at the intersection of Prospect and Angell St.. In both incidents, the shooters were said to be driving a black/dark SUV.

"Providence police responded to multiple reports of Brown University students being targets of pellet gun attacks overnight.The assaults mark the latest in a series of pellet-gun crimes that continue to plague the city.
About Incidents Shortly before 11 PM Saturday night, Providence Police were called to Charlesfield Street on the East Side to meet with Brown University police for a report of students being shot by assailants with BB guns. The victim — a male — told police was standing with friends at the corner of Thayer and Power Streets, when a black SUV pulled up and began shooting a BB gun at them. According to police, the victim said he and his friends fled the area, only for the SUV to chase them and shoot them again with pellets before driving off. Then, at approximately 11:30 PM, Providence Police responded to another report of Brown students being shot at, this time at the intersection of Prospect and Angell Street. Two male victims said that they were standing the aforementioned intersection when a dark SUV pulled up and began firing a BB gun at them — again, with pellets. "
Three separate incidents. First on Angell Street by Brook Street, second on the corner of Thayer Street and Chesterfield Street, and third near Wickenden St.. Perp in the first was reported to be in a "dark hatchback sedan", and sounds like the other two were by the same gray (Audi?) SUV. Hope they finally catch these hoodlums.
Multiple Pellet Gun Attacks Reported on Providence’s East Side Overnight
Two more were shot with a pellet gun in the East Side. First one was at Hope and Angell St., second was a Brown employee walking along Cushing St.. Police later found the dark colored SUV at Hope High School. A black airsoft gun was seized, and the juvenile possessing it was arrested.
