So...your concern is over taxes bud??? You do know that you will not pay capital gains tax on less than $250K in gains, right? And given that your new home will likely cost more, there will be no "gains" to begin with.

I'm well aware of how capital gains works for single people as you suggest, and I'm also aware of how it works for some couples. But why would I sell? I have a nice house in a nice neighborhood, despite what you say. Bye bye, you're boring me.
