"According to police, there were both 9mm and 45 caliber cartridge cases on the ground.
A witness told police that a dark-colored SUV was seen in front of 39 March Street, when two people exited the vehicle and began shooting toward Chad Brown -- where there had been people sitting outside that then fled inside."
I realize that massnative71 believes most crimes in Providence involve Nissan Altima, but as I've always said...it's black SUVs.
Come on redplum, I always acknowledged that (higher level) criminals favor the black SUVs these days. But the Altima remains extremely popular among low level Providence street thugs.
Police did not find the victim but saw what they determined to be a crime scene in a parking lot by 15 Wilson Street.
The victim was later located at Rhode Island Hospital, and was initially was in critical condition and
intubated, with a serious stab wound to his arm.
The victim is now stable, and police are investigating.

Good bleeping God. It's 3 blocks away and LLB isn't open Tuesdays. You krimekinksters are something else trying to tie in your voyeuristic hobbies to local businesses for dubious reasons.

And not that I care what krimekinksters think, but what makes this a "very serious" violent crime?
It wasn't random so no reasons for us living here to have any fear. It was a stabbing, not a mass shooting. They were able to get themselves to a hospital. If that's "very serious", what is just a "serious" violent crime? Or a non serious or moderatley serious violent crime.? If everything is "very serious" then its a meaningless descriptor for the fetish cut and pasting.

I beg your pardon SIR? In what world is STABBING somebody not a "serious" crime??? The man is in critical condition, and currently intubated! The fact that you can just shrug this off, symbolizes everything that is wrong with Providence (and many big cities) today. What a shame it is we have gotten to this point...
Anyway, I'm obviously not talking to you but to those who still consider shootings/stabbings, etc. to be serious crimes...here is the latest map of serious violent incidents through August. August are in gray. I apologize for the delay this month, just catching up now.
The same people who go to the lengths of organizing a protest in front of the public safety HQ over a few rowdy/delinquent kids getting a backsplash of pepper spray on them during a totally chaotic scene, could care less if a man is now inches from death after a vicious stabbing. You literally can't make this stuff up. But I guess it's par the course these days...
