I'm doing everything possible not to get sick. If we need groceries I track where there are no reported cases and go rural to shop. We drove an hour yesterday to find very little on the shelf and no toilet paper. I made an appointment with my OBGYN oncologist for April 23rd and they called back 5 minutes later and rescheduled it for May 23rd. My regular OBGYN wanted me to see him in two weeks, not two months.
I had some disturbing GI problems and I can't get an appointment for that right now either. This is terrible timing for these issues right now, but hey, it wouldn't be me if I wasn't doing it the hard way. LOL.
I had a 12:30 eye doctor appointment today. Got a phone call telling me to come in at 9:30 as he needs to see me. Post-op.
I hope the news will be ok.
From what you have said about your eye issues ( glaucoma, etc) there is no way you should cancel or even postpone your appointments, unless, of course, you are sick or you are advised to do so by your doctor. You'd be jeopardizing your own eye health or even sight by postponing treatment, or periodic checks in response to others' attempts to guilt people into disregarding their own health issues for the sake of being a participant in "social distancing".
Honestly, you don't need to justify keeping a medical appointment, especially to internet strangers who don't know you or your medical history. It's strictly between you and your doctor.

Thank you for your kindness. I don't think it will ever be perfect. I was having a hard time accepting that. But it has been a long road and I can't keep fighting it or expecting more than what is possible. I like my eye doctor (glaucoma specialist) and trust him with whatever he suggests.
Don't get hurt, either. There is a severe blood shortage because all the blood drives usually held at universities, Mason halls, workplaces, churches and community centers across the country all got cancelled as those places closed. That's one reason hospitals are cancelling elective surgeries.

My niece's husband is a dentist in Colorado and their practice is closing.
I had my routine checkup on March 4 at my dentist in Tennessee and the office was busy. I asked the hygienist if they had been getting cancellations, but she said no, just one patient called quizzing them about sanitation procedures. I was glad I was getting my checkup in because I had a feeling things were about to change. March 4 seems long ago in so many ways.
Well, the chances of you getting sick are greatly decreased if you are staying home!!
Exactly, I'm not retired yet and if I was, I'd be hunkering down, grocery shopping at 2AM, spending time outdoors to combat cabin fever, and generally avoiding large groups of people. But where I work is a giant building that is going to end up being a germ farm someday, I don't know what's gonna happen when someone in it comes down with the virus. Maybe they'll close for a couple weeks.
I have an endometrial biopsy scheduled for March 25. I live rural, it can’t be done locally. I’ll be going to the UW Women’s Clinic in Seattle. The appointment was made a month ago, before all this insanity began. I called the clinic today to see if they are keeping their appointments, and, so far, they are. Of course my appointment is still a week away.
My partner has COPD. I usually would not post this here, but I have to admit that I’m scared ****less on all counts. I’m tempted to cancel the appointment myself and just ignore getting the biopsy.
