it was a G6, not a G5. is the G6 any better than the g5?
It's bigger and has more powerful engine options. I've had a few of them as rentals back when they were new, and they're pretty mediocre. I'd image they're even worse after 4+years of use.
i asked about this car because I have a thing for a co worker ( a woman, yes). 58 going on 39 if you know what i mean. i saw her getting out of the car (which from a distance looked very sporty and premium.) i noticed it was a Pontiac G5 and i wondered what type of people would buy this kind of car. is it an attractive older women's car, for example. maybe it was a G6, isn't there a G6 too?
The G6 is based on the GM Epsilon platform which was developed by Opel and used on both Opels and Saabs in Europe. This is why the car looks more expensive than it actually is, it looks Euro.
The G5, is a chevy Cobalt twin, but only came in a 2 door. Example of a G5 I believe it only came with the ecotec.
The G6 came in a couple forms, the 4 door, 2 door, and 2 door hardtop convertable, also the GXP had a bit more aggressive front end.
It came with a few engines over the years, the ecotec, several v6s, from 200, 224, 252, and I think 270 hp? I do know it was the 3500, 3.5L VVT 3.9L VVT, and 3.6L
I always thought the G6 GXP was overwrought and kind of ugly. The stretched front grille always made me think of chipmunk teeth.
The regular G6 and G6 GT weren't bad cars, but they could have been better. Someone in my neighborhood owned the rare 2009.5 G6 that was refreshed right before Pontiac was axed (black on black with chrome wheels), and it looks surprisingly good in person.
