And he recognizes the nutball fringe element that lingers in every belief system. Even within us atheists, though I for one have NEVER seen even one of us going off the deep end.....

Unfortunately, belief in a Creator God is lumped in with the massive amount of spurious BS that selfish, greedy men have attached to it so they can gain money and power from people searching for truth and unlucky enough to run into these shysters.
You have to ask yourself why, if Christianity is indeed "Truth", they need to lie about it so much. Yes, some of it comes from greedy shysters that want to make a quick buck but much of it comes from legitimate organisations like the Church who, clearly, need to lie in order that the gullible flock are not exposed to what is actually true. You only have to look on apologist sites like the 'Creation Institute' and 'Answers in Genesis' to see the extent of downright lies and misinformation that is churned out by these organisations that clearly have no qualms about 'lying for Jesus'.

It's all good rifleman.
The reason it's easy to relate is that the one and only difference I have with the scientists that are atheist, is the source of what they study.
When I came to this site I was searching...trying to find Truth...and what do I find? Posts by a "MysticPhD" and a "rifleman"...two truly brilliant men...and others with great knowledge. I read the "rifleman" posts and come to basic understanding of bio-genesis and how species evolve...and I'm educated and amazed...and I wonder how something that grand and complex could ever come about. Then I read the "MysticPhD" posts and find something so simple, yet so deep...and it brings it ALL together for me...and reconciles it ALL.
Finally...I'm brought to a REAL understanding of "God" and "Nature" and "Science"...from experts in those fields that KNOW, and have done the research...and freed of all the "contamination" that "organized religion" has heaped so deep upon it that I wasn't able to find ANY of it. My head was so confused that I didn't know WHAT to think.
Now I have something that's soooooo good...it covers EVERYTHING...except for the spurious who-ha that I now FINALLY see for what it is...and can ADMIT that childhood indoctrination with all it's ritualistic brainwashing REALLY does stay with you subliminally until you can find it and kick it to the curb.
So the "big hand" is from me to you guys.
But now what we need is a few really far-out nutjobs that can add some comedy. In the past few days I've gotten a couple LMAO sessions (June snuffed my posts though), but it runs hot and cold. I want a few consistently whacked people...prefeably a mix of Atheist, Agnostic, and Fundie...to join the board. But that's just me...since I deal with a lot of kind of "out there" people... it takes the real space-cadets to entertain me.

THEY'RE the BIGGEST shysters! They even figured how to finagle being EXEMPT FROM PAYING TAXES! Why do they deserve that? Organize charities and skim a fortune...and find really fine people that will work for years for next to nothing, living in mud huts, helping the worlds most impovershed...while the bigwigs are living in multi million dollar mansions, driving brand new Cadillacs, wearing silk robes and drinking wine out of solid gold cups. They violate the basic tenants of the theology they profess, so blatantly it's almost a joke...and the biggest sign in front of the place says, BINGO NIGHT, in big red letters. WTF!!!
I gotta stop before I get going or this will take up pages on what I think of the Church...they should be busted for fraud. Not to mention the really heinous stuff the biggest church organization perpetrates...then run elaborate cover-ups. They don't have Truth...they NEED truth!
It's so silly to speculate, since the dimensions are right there in Genesis 6:15
"And this is how thou shalt make it: the length of the ark three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits and the height of it thirty cubits."
And in verse 16, it is specified that the ark has three distinct levels.

All righty -- by the numbers.
Using the 17.5 inch 'common cubit' (there were two distinct cubit measurements at that time),the Ark would have been around 437.5 ft long, 72.9 inches wide, and 43.8 feet high, with a surface area of 95700 sq ft, a cubic volume of 1,396,000 cu ft, and an approximate displacement of 20,000 tons.
Now, using present-day estimates (which currently sit at around 10 to 100 million known living species), and accepting that God told Noah to take two of *every* animal, and further working under the knowledge that 99% of all animal species that have ever lived are now extinct.....
That means that, to properly fulfill God's wishes, he would have had to pack over three hundred ninety-eigt million animals of all shapes and sizes into a vessel with the approximate deck space of a two-bedroom apartment.
Literal truth? Only if God decided to arbitrarily fiddle with space-time.

Anyone that has any character will build an affinity for some of the other contributors...MOF there are a couple I would be thrilled to meet and associate with, cuz they are obviously top-notch people.
