I'm sorry, I can't let a comment like this go by without saying anything. To compare an education of the early 19th century to your own is absolutely ridiculous. In those times to get any kind of education was only a privilege of the wealthy and the scope of the education received was a lot broader. While he was studying theology he was also studying under a geologist called Adam Sedgwick and a naturalist called John Stevens Hedlow. His employment after finishing his education was as a naturalist on the recommendation of Hedlow.

Those who can rise above the education standards of the day, see beyond the accepted beliefs of their time are the true geniuses of history. He didn't just accept what he was told, he saw another answer and investigated it. The theory that he developed has been expanded on, improved and proved since his life. His theory is still being discussed 2 centuries after his birth.

To imply that you are somehow smarter than him because you have a modern education just shows how limited your perspective really is. When you have formed a new theory, written a book on it that sells out on the day of publication and when your ideas are still being discussed in 170 years then you can tell us you're more clever than a man like Darwin. But that won't happen, will it?

Just as an afterthought.... creation science is an oxymoron.
