Today I sit within this sacred circle to celebrate the life of a very special person, a woman who is like a second mother to me, early Sunday morning she passed on to the other side and I do not mourn the loss but celebrate the fact that she has passed on to a better life of peace and harmony and it is with this knowledge that I know one day we will sit together with our ancestors in peace. osay

I will sit with Ptsum in the sacred circle and celebrate the life of his dear friend who held the high honor of "second mother" to him.

I just realized, i have been a part of this forum for a few months now and have not yet sat in the circle. I think i will take the time to do that now.

I am an atheist.

ptsum, your view on death lightens my heart. While i do not beileve in a life after death, I do think that death is the one thing that truly unites us as people. Death is not something to be feared. For some, death is something to mourn, for others it makes us think of the time we have shared our loved ones, and brings a smile to our faces. I think that death lets us fully understand and cherish the relationship we have had with others, and that is something to celebrate.

forkpower, you are always welcome to join us and sit among us, one does not have to believe in order to sit among us in the sacred circle, all one needs is respect and you will be respected here as everyone else is. I am glad to see that you take an interest in the way that the Native American people celebrate life and the next world, to us there is no death, there is only a change of worlds and when we leave this world we will sit among our ancestors in the next world, this is our belief. osay
