Then bring on Satan, for beer and wine are good, and in moderation have health benefits.

Anything not in moderation is a negative, and that includes the fantasy world of religion, for many death, wars, torture and other atrocities are the direct result in the over indulgence of the ignorance of the bronze age.

If they can make you believe in absurdities, they can easily persuade you to commit atrocities.

I think I'll go open my new growler.................

No problem with either. If Jesus can turn water into wine for the folks to drink, who am I to go against his teachings. I'm happy to indulge in the name of being a true follower of Christ.

I haven't heard that reason before............. what's wrong with just enjoying a good beer or glass of wine for no other reason than some selfish enjoyment

The extremists who choose to make anything mankind might like to do (or partake in) out as "evil deeds" are simply today's zealots out to control the flock. They are the bane of religion for most of us who want to be spiritual but can't quite buy into one of the many man made religions that choose to rule over their faithful.

Not that I have an opinion.

I like wine and beer. I've enjoyed both for many years without becoming a destitute alcoholic or ending up on parole.

I have a nice winter ale in hand at this moment (well I set it down to type)

If you googlle "Baptist Jokes" you will find this little ditty. The search is wrong, for it ain't a joke, it's just the reality of hypocrisy of people that can't even be honest with themselves.

Quote:
There are three truths in life:
Jewish people do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah.
Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the leader of the Christian faith.
Baptists do not recognize each other in the liquor store.

Islam prohibits alcohol and all intoxicants. I doubt if any of us can add anymore to the subject.

However, Islam is a religion of choice. We need to know the consequences for our actions and make our choices based on that. We do have some Muslims who believe the punishments for consuming alcohol are very small and they willingly accept any punishment as a fair trade off for indulging in it. Others such as my self consider any deliberate sin to have severe consequences and and the trade not worth it.

Myself while a former Beer Drinker, with a known high capacity for Fosters have not had a beer since accepting Islam and have had no craving for it.
