Marriage is a religious act that has been taken by the non-religious.
The State should have nothing whatsoever to do with marriage, which should be by private -- either religious or otherwise -- contract; and, like all other contracts, if the contract needs to be cancelled, unless there is a cancel clause in the original contract specifying how this is to be done, than the issue can be taken to state court.
No Walter, marriage predates recorded history, so it is hardly an exclusively religious thing.
One last time. Atheism has NO SHARED MORALITY. What part of this do YOU not understand?
