[quote=jimmiej;18078931]interesting that you won't answer my question.
It's a fact he believes it, yes.
I'm not questioning it. But, his believing it doesn't make it a fact.
Is the moon made of green cheese, just because i believe it? Let me answer for you. No!
He either is or isn't.
Again, your opinion, not fact (truth). It's subjective.
And your belief in jesus, the nt and christianity as provable truth is not fact but just in the eye of the beholder......... Theory, your theory, an opinion....
It seems you do WANT to believe we live in a just world. The evidence shows otherwise. If you believe there is some sort of justice in an afterlife, that is fine for you, but there is no evidence to support it.
Do you believe the same things are good or bad in all cultures?
Do you agree with the cultures that believe genital mutilation of girls is good?
How about the cultures that practiced human sacrifice? To them, that was a good thing.
I could go on and on with more examples of things people do in different cultures that you would think are wrong. And they would think are right.
That would make morals relative to the culture they are practiced in, wouldn't it?
Even if I knew for a fact there was no afterlife and that we would never get punished or rewarded for anything we did, I still would not do any evil. Why? Because I have a moral compass, I know what is good and what is bad. I'm aware if I cause pain to others. I never said the practices in other countries were good because they are said to be good there, on the contrary, I believe they KNOW it's wrong, but people try to justify their acts on tradition or whatever. Just because someone says something is "good" doesn't make it good, we know deep inside that it is not. Like I said, I do not believe good and evil is relative.
And your belief in jesus, the nt and christianity as provable truth is not fact but just in the eye of the beholder......... Theory, your theory, an opinion....
Belief is an opinion, not fact nor truth....
I never said otherwise. There are many opinions (beliefs), but only one truth.
