So my future husband is about to graduate next month (right before our big day, weeesh!) with his Master's, and I have already have bought a couple of gifts for him. I've heard some people say that "graduation time does NOT call for a gift, even a Master's". Really??? What do you all think?

Every rule has an exception. I'd go ahead and give them to him.

I think it's a great opportunity to give a gift, but not a requirement.

Who are these people? Were they raised by wolves?

It's perfectly acceptable to give someone close to you a gift to celebrate a major milestone in his life.

You can give gifts to anyone at anytime for any reason...or even no reason at all!

In fact those "just because" gifts are often my favorite (both to give and receive)

Absolutely. There may be guidelines about times when gifts are generally given, but there's no rule that says you can't give a gift to someone anytime YOU want to.

A gift is absolutely in order! He worked very hard to earn his Masters and he deserves some accolades. Congratulations to him on his Masters, and congratulations to you both on your wedding!

Agree with every word. I know that "secretly" the people in my family who earned degrees would have been crushed if no one made a big show of their accomplishment.
