Ehhhh, not being with my grandfather when he passed. I was in college 12 hours away and I got in the car as soon as I found out he would not live much longer and he died when I was about an hour from home...
The only thing I could have done differently would have been to leave earlier...

I have the opposite regret -- worked too hard in high school and college, blew 8 years of my life studying, working hard for grades, and none of that really mattered at all. It never did. It wasn't about grades, it's just about who I am and what I can accomplish. I never needed any of those grades, but to get them I gave up too much. Too many good times I could have had, wasted, because I wanted that A. It's no way to go through youth. Most of those classes are stupid and useless anyway. Real knowledge is acquired in the real world, this is the Internet era, if you have a connection you'll learn more here than in school. Instead, I spent my time learning worse-than-useless information, dumping it onto a test, then promptly forgetting 95% of it. The human mind is a remarkable device in that respect -- it discards whatever isn't used, which let's face it, that's pretty much everything you learn in school. What you retain from school is purely functional, the shell, if you will -- the ability to write (hopefully) so you can complete assignments, the ability to meet deadlines (so you can complete assignments), the understanding of how to manipulate a system to maximize your grades (so you can get A's), etc. All of the real knowledge is gained from the process, not the output.
I would fix it by sitting down and talking with her about it...like most people do...but she won't allow it, which dictates, she wants to continue the rejection.
