Why do guys boast about their "conquests"? (younger, personal, reason)

Both men and women brag its just that Women don't usually brag the way men do. When a bunch of insecure women get together, they don't straight out say how many men they slept with or how big their breasts are (as opposed to a bunch of insecure men). They do it VERY subtly. They phrase it as a 'complaint'(OMG all these guys approaching me is so annoying)but it really is peacocking all the same.

My sister once told me, 'The key to being a ***** is making sure that no one with a penis catches the hidden insult but everyone without one will'. Same goes for bragging.

If he would boast about something else like maybe reducing poverty in other countries, finding a cure for spinal cord injuries, something else that contributes to society, etc. and has taken steps towards it than ok but ''Oh I've scored this hooker, now my number is 30, gotta do that bros'' is just another one out of many pointless individual.
