Men could care less about women's shoes unless they have some sort of fetish.
If he is interested, the compliment will be about how you look and not what you are wearing. It will be a general, "you look nice today" or a compliment on your hair or smile.
However, a compliment on your looks does not guarantee that he is interested in taking you out. It might just be a nice compliment. Men are occassionally polite or friendly without any ulterior motives.

i disagree. good shoes can make many women look better. heels can really accent a great pair of legs, and some shoes are just hot
there are a lot of things women do to look good that many men don't realize women are doing, but we like to see anyway. good shoes, along with certain makeup things and such, fall into this category IMO
and i certainly don't have a fetish. foot/shoe fetishes are completely unappealing to me. but great calves in heels, or hot shoes and a nice skirt... very appealing

Not true at all. It depends on the shoe. I have a pair of heels that men seem to love. I think they evoke a fantasy or something. I've learned not to wear them at work, but every time I did/do wear them, I get comments from men and women.
So I was reading another thread, and it made me wonder.... if a guy compliments your shoes, how do you know if he's just admiring your shoes or if that's a subtle way of saying he likes YOU?
(I say shoes but it could also be any other clothing, hair or accessory you're wearing)
It could be a not so subtle way of telling you that you have nice shoes, why read more into what was stated?
When one gives another a compliment it does not automatically mean they want to date you, toss you on the ground and ravage you, marry you or even introduce you to their Mother. It means they gave you a compliment and you should graciously say "Thank You" and move on without over analyzing absolutely everything that everyone (including men) says to you.
My husband "The one occasionally known as Baldrick" quite often compliments women while we're out. Nice dress, nice shoes, nice perfume things like that.
I suppose it could mean that he's interested in them all though looking back at some of the women he's complimented? Probably not.
