See this is why the woman should ALWAYS take the mans last name. Forwards this post to Mr. Djuna with detailed explanation of why he HAS NOW LOST his MAN CARD!

We have a pretty equal relationship, our setup works for both of us.

LOL. My husband "owned" me because I gave him ownership. I "owned" him too. We both respected what was given us, so we had no problems.

Neither of us excercised "ownership" rights.

The only reason she did take his last name was for the sake of the children she knew they'd have one day. She told me she's always believed this way...even as a young girl.
As long as women own the _______ they run things..

With apologies, I have only reviewed a portion of the replies in this thread.

With that said, and in my decidedly personal opinion, any man who thinks he "owns" his woman simply hasn't been paying attention. He "owns" his woman only as much as she allows him to do so.

Should she ever decide differently, the man had best employ food-tasters and clothes-wearers to ensure his continuing survival. Life, after all, is a very delicate thing...

Always found in weird in the old days when women were sometimes called 'Mrs (insert husband's first name here) Jones.' As a kid I was like, 'mum, why does that lady have a boy's name?' Lol
