I wouldn't be repairing anything...as the management would handle any damages to the exterior (doors included) to the home.
Also mangament MADE us install the alarm. We did not want it. They have to get it fixed and they have been VERY slow to do so.
We have regular fire alarms in our home now cause we dont trust the one they put in.

That would be between you and the Association as to who pays for the damage, and it would be in accordance with the CC&R's.

KHO, I think you got the answer to your question. Just thank everybody involved and appreciate that some people care enough to check on an alarm going off in your place.
I would thank:
the management company for calling the agent,
The agent for coming out and opening your door,
And the fire department for responding so quickly.
They all deserve your thanks.
Had the mgt company and the agent not pitched in to help, you would probably be repairing some damaged doors or windows.
I agree.
Your "broken alarm" that kept going off was most likely annoying your neighbors also.
It's not illegal. I assume that the manager is acting on behalf of the owner that has a contract with an agent to have the lockbox on there.
I don't think someone called a random agent. It was probably someone from the brokerage. Remember Principal Brokers from the company have the listings, the agents are mearly acting on their behalf. So if the principal broker sent out another agent, not on the listing, that would be fine.
Working smoke detectors are a big deal in a rental property. If they go off, landlords want to respond.
I suggest sending the agent a thnk you card, and offering him a $500 bonus for bringing a buyer...
