If your home was in foreclosure, I doubt they will want to steal your identify to get credit. But ID theft goes beyond credit these days.

You can put a fraud alert on your accts at the 3 credit bureaus. The bank attempting to issue the credit will call you before any new credit account is approved...such as new loans, credit cards, etc.

The fraud alert is a good idea.

I can't go after my buyer if something happens, but I can go after the ones who actually took my stuff.
