You can bet the $$$ (parts and labor) vastly exceeded the value of the pilfered fixtures. I'd be surprised COE wasn't delayed by days just to tally the losses and get estimates.
Actually I'm dumbfounded that somebody was so stupid to do that. Doubly dumbfounded that the Realtor and seller had so little contact. Triply that the seller thought they could do that.
I'm pretty sure all the purchase contracts I've done stipulate built in appliances convey in the boilerplate. The fridge would probably have to be stated as conveying, at least in some way.
What next? Jack up the whole house and take it with? Leave the buyer with a vacant lot with just a gas meter?
