Hey all,

I just wanted to let you know that my showing have definitely picked up. I think it has a lot to do with the new pictures being more appealling. Anyway, we have another showing scheduled for this morning, that makes 4 different ones in 5 days. I can't believe it. Even after the mixed news on housing, we have never had this many so fast. We listed in mid July. Also, my realtor showed it last Thursday, and said her lady loved it. She wants my house, but is trying to secure financing. She got approved for $40000 less about one month ago. So is now working with different lenders to try to get approved for mine. I don't know what the chances are with her, but will hopefully find out later today.
I thought I would keep everyone posted and thanks again.
Liz

Hi Liz,

We still haven't sold our house in Sarasota. We have it off the market till November 1st..that's when people start coming down...(what we call "season")..not too many people come down here in the summer.
Anyway..the best of luck to you.
We are still planning on moving to Greenville..some day

Congratulations! I think that whole "this is the slow time" theory my realtor told us about is wrong. Right now it's a buyer's market and I think a lot of buyer's are out now specifically because it's supposed to be the slow time and they figure they can get a deal if they offer now while sellers are panicking.

Incidentally, we had a pick-up of showings the last few weeks also... right after we got an offer and started negotiations ironically enough.

I'm thinking good thoughts for you!

I think something is afoot. I listed a house in North Port two weeks ago and have had several showings with one person applying for a mortgage before signing. BTW I priced the house 10K below the assessed value, 14K below Zillow and 5K below the CURRENT appraised value. It IS a buyers market.

Still no luck, I guess I only thought things were getting better. We did add to the MLS listing that we will help pay a portion of the buyers closing costs. No point in keeping that a secret I guess. So sandyrose, looks like I am still waiting for you to come here and buy my house........LOL

What did your realtor say was the reason(s) why all 5 potential buyers turned you down?

1 could not get financed, 1 did not like the electrical box, 1 found something they liked better, and 2 had just started looking , but liked it. Nothing negative, all positive feedback, 1 realtor actually showed it twice to 2 different clients. So here we are, back to square one. It's just an awful feeling, because even though we do not have to sell, we are watching the people in our neighborhood who have to, drop prices, which is going to hurt our appraisal if it does not sell fast, and before theirs. Just hoping for the right person to come along.
