South Dakota is finally moving up a little in the world. We still need a Chic-Fil-A and a Krispy Kreme though. I can't believe someone hasn't opened one of those yet.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Sioux Falls used to have a Krispy Kreme. UMMMM they had some good stuff. I'm not positive, but rumor has it that they ended up closing~too many health conscious people out there.

I got food poisoning from the Chick-Fil-A in Boulder. So, I'm not sure how excited I'd be if we got one!

I have been to a Chick-Fil-A in Colorado Springs and was not sure what to think of it. I might try it again. I think that Sioux Falls will get one sooner or later.

Danny, has the planned stores moving into Rushmore Crossing slowed down? The developments in Sioux Falls (Dawley Farm and Galleria) are moving a hare slower than planned due to the retail economy in the United States a whole being in a slump (Sioux Falls is holding up well compared to other parts of nation regarding its retail strength so far). Many retail chains are holding off or reducing the number of stores they plan on opening. I think that Dawley Farm will see progress sooner than Galleria with it being next to Wal-Mart and receiving road improvements this year as opposed to area by Galleria being widened in the next few years.

Quite the opposite. I just drove by the site today and Rushmore Crossing is going up quick. Cabela's is coming along quickly too. The exterior is nearly complete. Maybe this recession is just taking longer to hit out here in the hills. I guess we just know what we can afford, huh?!

Maybe or the developers who are behind the Rushmore Crossings Mall are a stronger bunch than the ones from Minneapolis that are behind the similar development in Sioux Falls. Plus Rushmore Crossings is by the interstate and does not need as much infrastructure upgrade compared to Dawley Farm and Galleria. The road by Dawley Farm is being widened. This location is 3 or so miles from the interstate. Location and infrasture improvements may play a role.

Danny, the one thing to remember is that a particular restaurant is the cause. Just because you got food poisoning at one place doesn't mean they are all that way.

True. True. But I still kinda cringe whenever I see one. I guess I'll have to give it another try sometime... just not the one in Boulder!

Chick-fil-a is my daughter's favorite place to eat! I hope Rapid gets one by the time we get out there!

Sioux Falls could use one or a couple of Chick-fil-a's. It would do well here.
