...as I have 2 chronically ill young adult children. (they are very up-and-down healthwise; sometimes more able to be a little active and participate in low impact recreation such as swimming, walking etc and othertimes are flat out and can't get out of their own way, need lots of sleep etc.)

We would like a community or neighborhood w/swimming and fitness facilities available so that they don't have to go far. (it takes energy to get ready, it takes energy to travel, it takes energy to get back home etc)

From personal experience, can anyone suggest a neighborhood or an area that might be suitable? We will be down again in a month or so to see things first hand. For sale or rental, doesn't matter...

Thanks.

Depends on budget.

Clayton has several nice areas.

Flowers Plantation, Lion's Gate, Riverwood, and there are others I believe.

Okay, thanks. As for Riverwood and Lion's Gate are they considered quiet areas or very busy areas due to the health club facilities? (are they open to the public?)

What about in N. Raleigh- addresses like Mezzanine Dr, Raven Rd etc. Are they considered to be quiet areas at all, and safe?

Lionsgate might be busier due to being on Amelia Church.

Riverwood is its own community--one way in--one way out--and not on a road used as a short-cut like Amelia Church.

Not sure about being open to public?

Lionsgate and Riverwood both allow outside membership (for a few more dollars that is) to their athletic clubs.

If you end up in the Clayton area, check out Reins From Above for your children. It's a therapeudic riding place near here. Good luck in your search!
