Today's N&O article was interesting and the Sunday "bash" sounds like fun! I was especially intrigued when I saw the lady who makes home-made cakes for them--YUM
Great little lunch spot! I should go again on a regular basis like I did a few years ago. BTW, the place used to be a five and dime many years ago. I bought a lot of pea shooter's there Thanks for posting the great photos!
Location: I live between Myrtle Beach SC and Raleigh NC.

They have a special on "Milkshake Mondays" when you can get milkshake for just $2.50. I had one, and I must say it was pretty darn good. Very friendly staff there too. I was there late in the afternoon on Monday just before closing so it was quiet, but I hear it draws quite a lunch crowd. Here are a few pictures from my visit:

Great Milkshakes!
When my grandfather retired in 1975 he worked there part time delivering prescriptions. He liked doing that and he really liked the owner whose name escapes me right now.
Grill special. Every Wednesday. 2 hot dogs 99 cents!
