Hi all!

I'm moving to Durham in the fall to start school.

I am still on a family plan with my parents (who don't want to switch from ATT b/c they want the iphones!)

I have heard that the ATT coverage is a little spotty but it also really depends on your specific phone. Currently, I have a sony ericsson 580 slider and I get dropped calls all the time.

So my question: if you don't get too many dropped calls on the ATT network, specifically in Durham and in and around the Duke campus, what's your secret???

I have an old Motorola Razr, and can't say I have had any problems with ATT coverage or dropped calls around Duke. Much better than my previous Sprint coverage on campus.

Coverage in the medical center has improved dramatically over the last year, and I suspect campus is rapidly catching up as well.

If you want a phone on a 2nd rate network, that has no investment in the future by all means get ATT.
