I personally love the Regency area, just do darn expensive to actually live in Regency. The commute shouldn't be to bad, just head down 64 a few miles and then up 55 which is now 4 lanes from 64 towards RTP. Which neighborhood you looking at?
This area is absolutely beautiful. It's adjacent to the Koka Booth Ampitheatre and Symphony Lake. They are building the new Lifetime Fitness (http://www.lifetimefitness.com/cary - broken link)gym down the street with several pools!! It's going to be amazing. http://www.lifetimefitness.com/image...mages/cary.jpg In addition, you have better stores in the area-Whole Foods and Trader Joes(the only one in North Carolina). Last, the lot sizes are bigger--for that matter-so are the houses.
I have a client right now that is interested in building in Regency. I met an awesome builder that is one of the builders out there. He also builds at the Preserve and I went in one of the prettiest homes that he built out there. If your interested in some further info on this builder, you can pm me or send me an email. He is so into what he does, and is a great guy.
My parents live in the Regency area and love it. The area is very expensive, but if you are looking high end, Kensington is a very nice neighborhood just off Penny Road.
I found Danbury at Regency very affordable. But I don't like it. I like Cambridge and Wyndhall and of course, Kensington!
Many of the Danbury homes' back yards face the busy road. No thanks. And as far as 'absolutely beautiful', I wouldn't use that phrase to describe this SD.
