That is bizarre! I hope she made it to a carwash shortly thereafter. I'd hate to think of a vaselined car + this pollen. It would be yellow goo on wheels!

She didn't tell me about it until today. I tried to downplay it, but I was mad and upset.
She said the car looked all shiny from a distance, and when she got closer she noticed the vaseline rubbed all over the car.
I never heard of such a thing !!!!
I haven't heard of that either, but Wakefield is filled with teens. I hate trying to shop up there or worse- go to that Wakefield movie theater. There are always giant fancy SUVs dropping off loads of teenagers who then talk through the whole movie or act like brats in the stores. I very nearly marched up to a van picking up a load of especially rude teens to tell the parent exactly what they did during the movie. I probably should have, but I guess I chickened out.
She went home and wiped it off by herself. I'm going over tomorrow and take it to the carwash !!!
I still like Wake Forest... technically this happened in Raleigh...
That happened to the car because that part of town is crummy and only getting crummier by the year.
Anywhere even remotely close to any part of Capital Blvd. is the pits.
It's just a fact.
It would be interesting to know if it was the only car in the lot that got the daily special lube job. I would go back to Food Lion and ask to see the parking lot security camera tapes and see if that shows the slippery grease appliers. With a little luck and a good camera the unsuspecting Vaseline dippers maybe caught and not get to slip away.
Good luck!
P.S. Your Mom may want to post a sign on her car window stating, "Protected with Petroleum Jelly!"
At least it was only petroleum jelly. I've had my car keyed from the front fender to the rear fender on the driver's side. I also had someone throw some kid of acid on the side of my car that ate the paint off. It doesn't help to park way out to avoid door dings, because then the a-holes see that you are trying to protect your car and they vandalize it on purpose I wish that people would learn to respect other people's property.
