Can somebody share their experiences/opinions about working with the RTI as compared to working with a private consulting firm in terms of work culture, career growth? (I am an environmental professional looking at some opportunities in the RTP vicinity). Thanks.

I have never worked for RTI so my experience is not first hand, but I feel that they are well respected and well known Scientific Research Institute in this area. I have had the opportunity to read several environmental reports they have been contracted to develop for the state and am impressed with the quality of their work. I don't know about the work culture or opportunity for career growth there since I have nevere worked there, but since it is a rather large company in the Research Traingle Park, I would think there is room to move up within the company and advance your career. If you have the opportunity to interview with them for a job in your field, I think it is well worth your time to follow through with it. Good Luck!
