Is anybody hearing the strange high pitched sounds from the woods and water bodies in Cary, especially after 5 p.m. ? I am wondering whether these are some sort of noisy tree insects or water insects...

Got it, that's what you meant by the color beige. Great input friends, thanks. May be we should put some special fish in the water bodies, fish that eat up frog eggs.

Please don't kill the native frogs just because you don't like their sounds. <sigh> You're in the South, and it's Spring. Try a little white noise, or just learn to get used to it. Consider it part of the southern charm that drew you to the area.

Really!
They are widespread.
We used to revel in the peepers in the spring in NW Pennsylvania.

It is somewhat of a "comfort sound" for my Mrs.
