Good food but stupidly cheap management. Gave miserable $1.00 off coupons but reminded you they weren't good Fri or Sat. Wow!
My wife once bought a dinner item at lunch time and paid the dinner price. The salad wasn't provided and the manager refused to give it even though the price paid included salad.
The restaurant charged additional for extra plain rice with dinner if you wanted more.
Lunch buffet was stingily refilled so items would run out and not be restocked.
Shame to see them go. The management just had no idea how to deliver value,
Yes, they've closed. I've eaten there, but wasn't overly impressed. For instance, they served a tossed salad, American style with iceberg, with some kind of sweet peanut salad dressing before the meal. Boggled my mind.
If you're looking for another place, I can highly recommend Sawasdee on Capital Blvd. We've been going there regularly for seven years, and have never been disappointed.
We ate at Taste of Thai right before it shut down (only because another restaurant close by was packed). There was no one in the place and the food was horrible. A few days later we drove by and the place was closed. I just looked up their last inspection which was a couple months ago.....89.5 with 16 violations!!! They had mold on their cutting boards....yuck...thank goodness none of us got sick!
Not very far from Taste of Thai is Thai House Cuisine which is fantastic! It is on Hardimont Rd and was recommended by a Thai friend. Once we went to Thai House we never went back to Taste of Thai. http://thaihouse-cuisine.com/
We tried Lemongrass once. It was ok, but their menu was very limited, and did not have any of our favorite dishes. A lot of the dishes seem to be Asian fusion, rather than strictly Thai.
Thai House Cuisine & Lemongrass are both excellent choices (true authentic). Sawasdee may be Thai food but would not consider it very authentic (more like Thai fusion). I would prefer to stick with authentic!
