I wonder how a big chain like Cici Pizza shut down, everytime I passed by their location they were always busy and for 3.99 all you can eat, pizza wasnt great but better than frozen or even some of the pizza restaurants around town. Checkers over by the Home Depot closed, I never liked their food, the slice of lettuce was always bigger than their meat patty.
Also wonder how long Bellini Italian Restaurant will stay open, that place has changed names many times before, the one over by the harris teeter plaza i am talking about.
I have not heard good things about that place! Can anyone comment?

Checkers does very well in the Florida market, but for some reason they just couldn't make it work here in the triangle. I love their french fries.

I think Cici's is a franchise and don't know if all of them closed down or just that one location. It's been several years since I last ate at any Cici's.

I'd argue Cici's is no better than pizza in a can. But for the value, you can't beat it.

Cici's is revolting. And scary to me -- I got food poisoning from one in NC.

I can't say from personal experience, but my FIL loves Bellini's. The new owner worked for 20+ years at an Italian restaurant in NYC, and is supposed to be some of the best real Italian food in the area.

The better question is why anyone would eat at a $3.99 all you can eat joint?!? Then again they'd probably also fly a $99 all you can fly airline if one existed. Sometimes it's nice to stay alive. LOL

Because the kids love it. I can't recall ever going there where there was a table of middle-aged adults sans children. I have noticed senior citizens dining alone every now and again and so I assumed they were enjoying an inexpensive meal out on a fixed income.

When I lived in Greenville years ago, I loved eating at Checkers. The burgers and fries were great! When I moved from Cary to Fuquay last year I was excited to have a Checkers close by, but the food there was not as good as I had remembered. Have all the Checkers gone downhill in quality or was it just the Fuquay location? CiCi's has gone up in price to 4.99 all you can eat. Seems a little overpriced for the quality of their pizza, but when you are hungry and broke it's still not a bad deal.
