Some Raleigh folks might be surprised this go round. It ain't all west Cary.

It's funny how they make intentional errors that they can then correct and make it seem like they "listened" - ie they've assigned Kitt Creek to traditional ES--->YR middle and traditional HS which goes against their own ideals. They will fix that and then claim victory as the VOICE OF THE PEOPLE.

West Cary's time is finally coming to an end. It's Apex and Holly Springs' turn now.

Wait till you see the reassignments when Felton Grove High School opens!

It's Raleigh's time now because they can't bus all those kids from Raleigh to the suburbs either.

The address lookup hasn't worked since they sent out the message at around 3:30 today. Off to a solid start.

It didn't load initially which I assumed was from everybody checking immediately. I did get it to work about 30 minutes later but it looks like it is not working again.

"What we're trying to do is bring students closer to home in some areas," said said Glenn Carrozza, district assistant superintendent of school choice, planning and assignment.

I can't believe it took a bus driver shortage to do this.

Turns out shipping kids across the county for "diversity purposes" was a bad idea for many reasons

Wake County still does bus when it suits their preferences. My son is done with the public school system, and there is no change to the school assignments where I live. But I still dislike seeing bus drives of 1hr or more for any reason, especially when it takes 20 minutes to bus pass homes that are assigned to schools closer to where you live.

I can't believe this was a real thing. To bus Raleigh kids to west Cary for diversity and vice versa. At least something good came out of the post-covid bus driver shortage.
