I was with you until you decided to make an excuse for ignoring rules/laws - your personal "comfort" doesn't apply when getting behind the wheel of a 4000 lb vehicle that is subject on rules/regulations.
So I can assume you never look at your phone, even for a few seconds, while driving?
And if you say no you're a liar. I would much rather someone speed 15 over than look at their phone. When someone is speeding they are more alert and paying attention. When they're looking at their phone they're in zombie world.
Tailgate me and I just go slower - i will do the speedlimit or even 5 under
A five-dollar high stop light (HSL) aka third brake light flasher does wonders to make the tailgaters back off. Sold on Amazon. They go in series with the light, are about the size of Pink Pearl Eraser.

Both of these things are not good. Just because one might be better than the other doesn't excuse both. If you hit a pedestrian/cyclist going 45 mph, there's a 45% chance that they will be killed. If you reduce that speed down to 35 mph, there's only a 20% chance of a fatality. So that 5-10 mph does end up making a difference.
(I look at my phone only when I'm stopped at a signal for the record. I assume by your accusation that I would be a "liar" if I never looked at my phone while driving that you've done that?)
