Has anyone every been in that old hotel when it was doing well?
I have toyed with the idea of exploring it some day but it doesn't look
like it would yield that many great pics..

It's pretty much gutted on the inside. Here's an exploration video someone did in 2017:
for me, it's saying the vid is disabled. I'd actually like to inside. I've loosely toyed with the idea of exploration, but the risk/reward ratio wasn't working for me. Not so much unnerved by the possible structural deficiencies, but the possible creepy crawlers and maybe even homeless squatters that might be in there.

Yes...back in the mid 70's. There was a popular nightclub there too. I'm sure there's still a disco ball around in there somewhere

Yup. I was in it a few times in the 80s and early 90s, though I never stayed there. Just in the lobby, conference rooms, etc.
It was nice enough. Not crappy at all.
