Has anyone here gone through the lateral teaching process? I'm interested in doing this but would love some advice from someone that has done it. Was the process difficult? Did you have a hard time getting hired by a school etc?

Thanks

Why would you ever want to teach in NC?

Read up on the situation before proceeding.

Are you in science or math? Otherwise you will have a hard time with lateral entry since there are plenty of certified teachers in the other subjects.

andherewego is correct. Science and Math are critical, most everything else is difficult to gain lateral entry.

I believe if you do gain a lateral entry position you are required to make steady progress toward a teaching certificate or you will be released at some point.
