Hello,

Are there any turtle owners in the Triangle area who frequent here? I have a 6-month old yellow-bellied slider and I need some advice and if possible, someone willing to take care of him while I am away. I need to go out of town for 3 months and can't take him with me. I also do not know of any neighbor/friend willing to put in the effort to take care of him. I am asking specifically for other turtle owners because I know they would understand my plight and also because it will be easier for the caretaker that way (if they already have a turtle tank with other turtles, they could just put him in there with them). Of course, I will provide the food etc., and can also pay for the trouble. I am also looking in some turtle forums.

Anyone?

mm... Some of the old timer NCer's might like to sneak over and make a soup out of him!

You might want to check with some of the veterinarians in the area who treat exotics - they might also provide boarding facilities. Bowman Animal Hospital on Creedmoor Rd. in North Raleigh has a portion of its practice dedicated to exotics but I'm not sure if they board turtles.
