I am moving to Cary in a few weeks and am wondering about which HO insurance company offers the best rates and coverage. My current HO insurance company in NJ does not underwrite in NC.

Thanks.

Start with the company where you have your auto insurance and then shop around a few other places. Prices will likely vary widely, and a company that's less expensive for one person may not be for the next.

Good luck!

A lot of employers try to partner with an insurance company to offer a group rate....so I'd say check with your job and see what they offer as a starting point.

Itried Allstate and they wont write a home owners policy unless I take out a auto insurance policy as well. Not sure that I want them to handle both types of insurance. Any recommendations?

I have Traveller's. The rates were competitive at the time. I haven't had to use them; so no comment on the level of service.

I use Amica for homeowners and car and get the multiline discount (the best way to go imo). Great rates.

I use them also. They have very good rates. I always recommend them to my clients and they are very responsive.
