My husband, our four children, and I will be relocating from Orange County, California to the Raleigh area this summer. My husband will be working at Wakemed Hospital in Raleigh (near the 440 and New Bern Avenue).
His shifts will be from 6:45 a.m. - 7:15 p.m., so we're thinking (hoping) he'll avoid some of the major traffic.

We'd like to know an estimate on the commute time to Wakemed from:
  • Garner
  • Holly Springs
  • Cary
We're looking at areas to live that aren't longer than a half an hour commute. We've mapped it, but it's always nice to get some perspective from people who actually live and drive the area.

Thanks in advance!
Angela

It takes me 12-15 min to get from my house in Garner (near 'downtown' Garner) to WakeMed. That doesn't include time to get parked and get in there.

Thank you, that's really helpful. It looks like it would take much longer, so it's nice to hear it's not too bad. (I think we're so used to OC traffic that can take forever to travel short distances.)

Cary covers a lot of area, but from my location (near I-40 and Harrison Ave), it takes between 25-30 minutes.

It can be faster if it's not near rush hour, but that's a good estimate.
