DH needs to find a new internist. We live in Brier Creek, but have NO PROBLEM traveling for good care. His (read: MY) priorities (in no particular order) are:

  • Excellent education that includes a good medical school (foreign medical school is fine) and US-based residency
  • Strong preference for a younger physician, one who has only been in practice for less than 5 years
  • Interest in geriatric medicine
  • Practices conservative medicine
  • Has no objection to dealing with educated consumers (aka patients)
  • Takes medicare (but I can call and check on that)
No preference between male/female, born in the USA or elsewhere.

Suggestions most appreciated and welcome. Here on this thread or via PM if you feel more comfortable.

Highly Recommend Dr. Sarah Hughes with Wake Internal Medicine. Her office is located in North Raleigh off of Durant Rd. She is young, I would say late 30's. She is super thorough, and incredibly easy to talk to. Her bio is listed below:
