Hi Y'all - We just moved here (to the North Raleigh area) about 4 weeks ago from MA. It's gorgeous here - humidity and all!! (Btw, the drivers are worse in Boston )
I'm having the darndest time finding a good doc for my mom. She's 83 yrs., on wafarin (a blood-thinning medication) and will eventually need a cardiologist and pulmonologist. Every single doctor that's been recommended to us is not accepting Medicare patients right now. I can't believe in a town with such great learning institutions and hospitals available that I am having such a hard time. Can anyone recommend someone or someplace? Someone affiliated w/Duke or Rex Hospital, perhaps? Thanks so much!

Duke accepts Medicare (at least, some Medicare plans, such as Humana Gold choice). Call them directly. They have several locations, too, so you might be able to find someone close by.

Find a specialist at Find a Physician - DukeHealth.org (http://www.dukehealth.org/physicians/FindPhysician/index - broken link)

Check with Wake Med also.
