Meeting a friend at Tanger Outlet tomorrow but from what I remember the food options there aren't great. Any good lunch spots we should check out. Would even drive to Burlington if the food is good enough. Something like Thai, a taqueria, or killer sandwiches would be great. Thanks!

If a simple diner is of any interest, check out Blue Ribbon Diner just up a little and across from the outlet entrance.

Hmmm. I rarely eat out that way, but I do recall enjoying the Bandido's in Hillsborough last time I was there.

Lots of good restaurants in Hillsborough (but about 12 miles from the outlets). See:

I've been curious about that diner. Is it southern-style or more like the diners you find up north?

I first went based on recommendations in this forum.

I'd say it's most like neither. It does not have the extensive menu of diners up north, but it's not particularly southern.

Here's their menu:

You could take a detour down 54 and go to Saxapahaw and eat at the General Store or the Eddy Pub.

I've visted twice and enjoyed it. The first time the service was horrible - they were clearly overwhelmed. But the food was good and we figured we'd give them another try. Our second attempt was much better.
