Looking for recommendations for homes or subdivisions near the Umstead area in the $200-$250 price range. We're late 30s, looking for an area which has a good mix of people which are younger/young family.
We really liked Heritage in Wake Forest, but it's a little far from everything.
Alternatively, locations which are connected to the greenbelt are great too.
Thanks!
If you're okay with Cary, check out Silverton. Right down the road from Umstead, near I 40 and RDU and right off the Black Creek Greenway with direct access to Lake Crabtree.
Thanks everyone - @Vicki, We prefer single family detached. After reading more on the forum here, we're not also interested in checking out Durham too.
Now that I've become an avid cyclist, I wish I lived closer to Umstead! I ride there almost every weekend. Within the next couple of years I'll be able to bike from my house near Bond Park all the way to Umstead on greenways - just have to wait for the town to finish a segment or two.
Anyhow, good luck with your search - it's a beautiful area!

We are SO ready for them to finish up all the greenway connectors! I hear ya there.
That's why I thought the OP would like Silverton. It's so close to Umstead, and you can get there already via Black Creek to Lake Crabtree.
