I just watched $40 a day and they were in the Triangle. They hit up places in Chapel Hill and Durham, including the DBAP.

They skipped Raleigh.

What's $40 a day? I don't have cable. Are there shows online?

I'm sure Raleigh is far too exclusive a destination for that show.

$40 a Day is a Food Network show hosted by Rachael Ray

We like this show, although Rachael is a bit of an acquired taste, and Food versus Man. That show is the best.

It's been several years since that episode was filmed. It wasn't ever billed as a "Triangle" episode, it was actually billed as a "Durham" episode, so it was odder that they considered Chapel Hill part of Durham.

I would have liked to see this. I just looked and I didn't see that it was going to be on again, not in the next week at least.

Some of the first words out of her mouth were I am here in the Triangle of North Carolina, even though is was labeled Durham on the website. She then went on to explain what made up the Triangle. She should have included one place from Raleigh to make it complete. She didn't just stay in Durham, she was in Chapel Hill too.

Yes, it was mentioned as the Triangle and that episode was filmed in 2003 I believe. I don't care for Rachel, but I did enjoy that episode of course

$40 a day for eating 3 meals? Entertainment? 1 person or 2?

1 person could eat out 3 meals a day in Durham for that but have to watch it. Can't just go anywhere you see. Meals here can climb out of sight. 1 person may get by with 3 dollar menu meals a day & still buy a movie ticket & snacks. Not sure what drama or sports tickets run.

It's for one person and entertainment is not included. It includes three meals and tip, and sometimes a snack, alcoholic drink, coffee, etc. between meals if she has extra money. The whole point is to eat good local food for under $40.

For eating only, that could be done, but one could not go just anywhere. Waffle House or local cafe for a $5-7 breakfast w/$1-2 tip, $5-10 lunch w/$2 tip, $10-15 dinner w/$2-3 tip. Could eat a bit cheaper at fast food places & not have to tip. Might get a beer in there somewhere. Iced tea costs now what beer used to cost in eating places.
