OK. So tomorrow morning at 6:30 the new roof escapade will begin.

I am so stressed out. I mean, I get a new roof and all that but still...the noise. The men climbing all over my yard. Possible Mexican radio music. Having to move outdoor furniture. It's quite the stressor.

The roofing escapade actually began at 6 am. Thankfully I woke up and jumped up and got dressed around 5:30. THE NOISE, THE NOISE. Also, my dogs are thrilled with this because for the next two days they get to be indoor dogs, which is their perpetual goal in life anyway.

I had so many colors of roofing to choose from that I hope I made the right choice. What a conundrum.

Thanks to the hail we get every single year, at least insurance is covering most of the cost. But errrrr, not all.

My yard looks like hell, I tell you. Hell. I feel like I'm living in hell, actually.

My regular nail techs are in Vietnam for the whole month! It took me a long time to find somebody I liked and who kept a clean salon and now I'm going to have find somebody for a one time deal until my regulars return. I am very fussy about my nails.

Haha, I thought of that!

OK something new happened today, because of course they didn't finish in one day like they said they would.

I had to go to a couple of appointments, so I was gone all afternoon long. No one called me.

When insurance came out, for some reason they didn't check my outdoor shed and frankly I didn't even think about it till a few days ago when I realized that now the shingles wouldn't match. But they wouldn't be that noticeably different and the shed isn't leaking so it wasn't that big a deal. So the guys asked about it and I said, "Don't do anything till I get an answer back from sales - is insurance going to cover all or part of it, how much would we be out of pocket, etc."

So while I was gone today, the guys just tore the roof off the shed and now they HAVE to reshingle it.

So I told the project manager, "yes, of course you have to do it now, but you do know that we did not order that nor give the go ahead on it, so I really think this is your problem, not ours. I sure hope you can get it covered by insurance."

Hm. I feel very disinclined to pay for this shed roof. I mean, I might pay COST for materials ONLY or something like that if insurance doesn't cover it but one thing I do know is that we just got a heckuva deal on a shed roof that we didn't order.

One way to avoid being annoyed by it would be simply not to read it! But I do understand that it may be irresistible to you.

Bon appetit!

This thread is free from controversy and acrimony.

It's downright unbearable for some.

One of CD's best threads.

Thank God in heaven that the roofers are OFF MY ROOF AND OUT OF MY YARD.

"I'm old, I'm tired, get off my lawn." That's what I felt like saying about 6 pm tonight, but they are gone, thank goodness.

Roof looks great. It looks like...a roof. Amazingly like a roof. It's a little hard to get overly excited about it but I'm trying to be upbeat!
