I have really horrible allergies so I recently purchased the Alen T300 air purifier. I chose it because of its reasonable price in comparison to the others and I like that it is a tower and I can just stick it in the corner so it is not in the way. Also, it comes with a lifetime warranty.
I like that the purifier has a HEPA filter and controls odors because I have cats and ever since I started using the purifier my home has been odor free. My family has been much healthier since I began using the Alen T300 as well. I would say the biggest plus factors to this particular air purifier are the cost, the fact that its super quiet, and the fact that it fits right into a corner.
When I first moved into my new apartment I knew my allergies would be exceptionally bad because it is fully carpeted and they aren't new carpets. The people before me had cats and dogs and we have cats so the amount of pet dander floating around and stuck in the fibers is just ridiculous. The amount of money I have been spending on allergy medicine alone was reason to buy this product. Since using it I hardly ever have to take my allergy medicine so it has actually helped me save money in the long run.
The only problem I have run across thus far is with the lamps. They run out fast and they are very expensive to replace. I have found that Phillips PL5/UV lights work the same as the stock lights and they cost less than half the price at almost any online retailer. Also, it runs very quiet on the low setting but once moved up to medium or high it is a little on the noisy side. This is not so much a problem for me because I deem it a fair trade for waking up with clear sinuses and dry eyes in the morning.
