I was in AZ and Texas for a while and there is a certain small tire company that started in Prineville that I have missed. I got a flat tire on I-5 NB at Alberta had to change it out ( not a good place to change a tire). I had to ride on a donut to try to get to this particular tire chain. I arrived at 5:45PM, they took me in, told me I didn't need a new tire, they patched it, put my spare away correctly. They even my spare to the proper PSI and then when I went to pay the bill they said, just come to us the next time you need tires. Whaaaattt? No way? That left an impression on me, and I think more businesses need to adopt this kind of customer service. Saved my entire Saturday. I'm sure this thread will get deleted, but I felt compelled to tell people that the ads are true. I have NEVER had a company treat me this well ever.

There is also a certain service station I go to that washes my windows (correctly) and checks my tire pressure, and are always courteous. I don't have to do a thing, and I don't pay anymore than I would doing it myself in Washington.

My auto mechanic, is one of the best I have ever had. Honest and fair, sometimes he gives me freebees.

All of the talk of passive aggressive customer service in my opinion is blown out of proportion, I have had mainly positive experiences and top notch customer services with businesses here in Portland that was not prevalent in AZ or TX.

They are certainly awesome, aren't they. Their products have suffered in quality a bit over the years because they have to compete with ever lower and lower prices. But try to get that kind of service at Wal-Mart or Costco.

I'm not sure the quality has dropped any. I'm running a set of their 6-ply RV Touring tires on my pickup that have 50,000 miles on them and look good for another 50. In the one panic stop situation they performed like champs. If I need to carry a load I can pump them up to 55 PSI and drive comfortably down the road with a bed full of bricks or firewood. When I switched from 4-ply to 6-ply my old tire chains wouldn't fit, so they swapped them for free.

My wife had a flat in a snow storm in Bend when she was at a conference, so she called them. They came out and repaired the tire in the hotel parking lot for free. I understand the equality freaks got to them and they had to quit offering free road service for women. I don't know if they quit, or just started offering it to everyone. I suspect the latter.

Funny, isn't it? Everyone knows exactly who AndyAMG was talking about. They are always the first place I go when I'm looking for tires.

Default I miss those guys.

Always my first stop if I was looking for tires. Love the service. Had a good experience in Enterprise Oregon with them emergency tire repair. I was scrood and a lot of people would have taken advantage of the situation. Not these guys.

They do give great service. The company we're talking about is Les Schwab Tires. I use them frequently here in Portland as they offer many other services as well. I have no ties with this company. Just giving kudos where they're due to a great local company.

My previous vehicle went through 4 sets of tires all around in 8 years. Three at once in one case, they messed up the sizes on the three replaced tires so the car was out of alignment. Even after I had them do a re-alignment. Despite $800 in brakes (including rotors,) all around, I ended up replacing them all within 20,000 miles.

But, my newer car, along with the motorhome and my wife's car have all been fine. But they have not needed as much service either.
