Hi everyone.

I have a vintage (70's) Thermador electric range in my house and the wiring has started to cannibalize itself. Does anyone know of any reputable repair shops in town that specialize in wiring or vintage appliance repair?

I have checked Google and have options but I like word of mouth reviews so much more than internet research.

Thank you!

Try Bruce Abbott at Abbott Instruments in Tigard - 503.246.1287. I'm not sure if he does that specific type of repair, but it's worth a call.

Yep, they did! In the end, I called up and scheduled an appointment with Spencer's Appliances. The guy I spoke to (Wes) seems knowledgeable and laid back. He said he would be out personally. I'm excited to have my range repaired!

Thanks, everyone!

For those west of the city, the people at K Appliance in Beaverton are knowledgeable and helpful.

Default Did you have luck?

I'm wondering if you had any success finding a good vintage stove repair place (in the Portland area), as I have a vintage electric stove I'm looking to have checked out/ possibly rewired if need be.

Not any more. The company was bought out, prices raised, and knowledge lost.

That's a shame. They were good.

Is ABC Appliance in central Beaverton any better?

Any other westside resources?

I have not used ABC yet.

I'll let you know as soon as I find a good one. Last guy I had out quoted $250 bucks to replace the pump on my dishwasher. PLUS the $75 (for about ten minutes of work, I watched,) to troubleshoot it in the first place.

At those rates it's cheaper for me to figure it out myself.
