Just when you think the left can sink no lower they want to honor this pig who I see as nothing more than a traitor, undermining our military and further putting our soldiers in harms way. Unbelievable!
How did Murtha put our soldiers in harms way? BTW, Marines consider themselves Marines and NOT soldiers.

The vast majority of comments on the article are totally against this idea because of how Murtha turned his back on the Marines and insulted them. Fine, name the ship after him. Just tow it out into open water and let the sailors and marines use it as dummy ship for target practice.

Guess you don't read much. It isn't about his "political views". It's about him calling the Haditha Marines murderers and liars to the press even before the investigation was complete and after the investigation and trial were complete, he never ONCE apologized to the Marines he insulted publicly before the press.
The senior Marine on patrol in the Haditha Incident, Staff Sergeant Frank Wuterich is charged with 9 counts of manslaughter, and is awaiting trial. So the investigation is far from over.
Murtha was a crook--pure and simple. Remember Abscam? My suggestion is that the Navy honor the crook by installing a crooked screw so that the ship cannot navigate in a straight line.
Last I checked Marines and soldiers were trained to be "cold blooded killers" when they are ordered to do so. In case any of you "conservative" Murtha bashers forgot, combat is about killing the other guy first. If your sergeant or officer says shoot the blank, you shoot the blank. You do not wait, you do not judge the order, you shoot and be done with it. If the sergeant called it wrong you are not responsible. If you are the sergeant and got it wrong you are in big trouble. If you are the officer that got it wrong you are in bigger trouble.

Great, so what was all the investigations about. if what you say is true then there should have been no investigation at all. Basicly, what Murtha was saying was those marines were murderers and liars. They were accused of murder. The Marines said they were under attack and Murtha, who wasn't there, said they weren't under attack. They said they fought back from the attack when they killed the people. Well, since Murtha said they weren't under attack when they killed those people, he was saying they were guilty of murder and perjury.
