The number of votes the Dems hope they will be getting on November 2. How can people not vote for the people who have provided them with the right to not pay income taxes? It depends on your reasoning and I hope that they fail to get anywhere all of that 47% to the polls on that day. It will be interesting to see how they try to get those voters to come out for them when most of them will be home celebrating their earned income credit money.

Boy do you have a short memory. You don't remember all the people who who no longer had pay taxes with the Bush tax cuts? Perhaps Alzheimer's is knocking at you door, maybe you should see a doctor.
Nice little velvet rant, Roy. I hope you don't think that as of January 20th, 2009, Obama gave 47% of the population a free pass on their taxes. This percentage has been inching up through many administrations. It will go higher as the boomers retire. Based on previous posts you've made, I'll bet you're of the age where you don't pay any taxes. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Where does this myth come from? I know plenty of retired people that pay income taxes.
I'm not sure what the argument is here. That we should rescind federal income tax credits that make tax burdens easier on people who aren't big income earners?
Which ones?
Or that we should jack up taxes on the bottom five income deciles?
That's a clunker of an argument. I think both major political parties understand that big income tax raises tend to be political losers.
And those who make millions have the right not to pay payroll taxes. Is there a point to your post, roy?
I have wanted to do this for some time, ever since Obama made the promise about payroll taxes. Payroll taxes are income tax, Social Security taxes, and Medicare. People always look past the two "entitlement taxes" and they managed to raise the tax on Medicare for SS recipients. He said no raises on payroll taxes and meant to say just income tax. He blew it so many ways with all those promises and this one at least as bad as any of them.
